U.S. presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama has arrived in Iraq as a part of his Middle East and Europe tour, a U.S. official says.
"Senator Barack Obama arrived in Iraq as part of a congressional delegation along with Senator Jack Reed and Senator Chuck Hagel," AFP quoted embassy spokesman Armand Cucciniello as saying.
Obama has promised to withdraw most troops from Iraq within 16 months if he is elected president in November election.
The tour took Obama to Afghanistan on Saturday on the first leg, and later to Kuwait.
He is expected in Jordan on Tuesday, before traveling to Israel and three European nations including Germany, France and Britain. Source: A
