A FREE version of VirtualRadio is now available for current Java phones and Symbian phones. The FREE version contains a moderate amount of advertising.
The FREE version for Java phones is a beta version and may not run perfectly on every phone! Most mobile phones in use are so-called Java phones. As there are thousands of different Java phones around, we are unable to tell exactly where VirtualRado will work or not. To optimize the user experience, we have reduced the standard list of radio stations to channels with a low bandwidth only (32kbps) within the Java version.
The free version for Symbian phones runs perfectly on Nokia S60 3rd edition and Sony Ericsson UIQ 3 devices and similar phones that use the Symbian operating system.
Download the FREE version of VirtualRadio! It's easy:
Just type www.vradio.org in the browser of your mobile phone and download the software to your phone. Enjoy and tell your friends!
WHAT IS VIRTUALRADIO?
VirtualRadio brings Web radio stations to your phone: Turn your mobile phone into a Web radio player and enjoy music, talk and news from all over the world!
VirtualRadio connects to the Internet through your mobile phone operator's network and links to more than 1'500 radio stations from all over the world.
If you have a modern phone, you can directly connect to the Internet by using Wi-fi (WLAN or hotspots) and you can hear radio without being charged by your mobile phone operator.
Click and Play!
VirtualRadio is based on one single basic functionality: playing a given set of Internet radio channels. Just start up the player and it immediately starts playing audio. There is no need to define play lists or find and type in URLs.
All you have to do is select from a given set of channels: Click and play! It’s easy!
Radio Stations
Continually new radios stations will be added to VirtualRadio. If you can not find your preferred radio station among the selected stations, tell them! We are more than happy to inlcude your preferred radio station into VirtualRadio!
System Requirements - Supported Phone Types
VirtualRadio runs perfectly on mobile phones with Symbian Operating System like Nokia S60 phones, SonyEricsson UIQ, Motorola, Siemens SX1, BenQ, Arima and Sendo X.
s an early Beta version VirtualRadio now also runs on common Java phones! As there are countless different Java phones in use, we are unfortunately unable to tell exactly where VirtualRado will work or not. To optimize the user experience, we have reduced the standard list of radio stations to channels with a low bandwidth only (32kbps) within the Java version. Just try it out, it is free!
Connection to the Internet through your operator's network
If you are not using Wi-fi (or have an older phone which does not support Wi-fi), you will need to have a working Internet connection from your mobile phone to your mobile phone operator's network. Many operators configure your phone automatically. If not, you will have to define the Access Point yourself. Rather use an "Internet" than a "WAP" Access Point. If in doubt ask your operator!
VirtualRadio is a typical 3G application, but it can also be used on GPRS and EDGE networks.
WARNING!
Listening to VirtualRadio through your operator's network will create a lot of download traffic! If you are not having a "flat rate" payment plan, the unlimited download of sound can become very expensive very quickly! If in doubt, ask your operator!
If you are using modern phones' Wi-fi capabilities you can connect directly to the Internet (WLAN) and can avoid all operator's costs.
